Representatives from Taiwan and the Czech Republic have signed six memorandums of understanding (MOU) and cooperation agreements which can be to function the premise for bilateral cooperation on know-how, schooling and tradition.

5 of the pacts had been inked yesterday at a signing ceremony witnessed by a visiting Czech delegation led by Czech Senator Jiri Drahos and Vice Minister of International Affairs Alexander Yui (俞大㵢).

They included one MOU every on semiconductor and schooling cooperation, signed by Consultant to the Czech Republic Ke Liang-ruey (柯良叡) and Czech Consultant to Taiwan David Steinke.

The Nationwide Palace Museum and Nationwide Taiwan Museum on Thursday signed separate cooperation agreements with the Nationwide Museum in Prague, whereas Nationwide Chengchi College and Nationwide Solar Yat-sen College individually signed MOUs with Charles College in Prague.

Yui described the sequence of agreements as “a milestone” within the relationship between Taiwan and the Czech Republic.

The agreements would “assist consolidate the resilience of democratic provide chains within the face of authoritarian threats” and “take Taiwan-Czech Republic relations to new heights,” Yui stated.

Drahos, who arrived in Taiwan on Sunday for a six-day go to, stated the six MOUs had been the results of intensive conferences between his delegation and the representatives of various Taiwanese establishments over the previous few days.

These “essential dealings” will contribute to extra intensive exchanges between the Czech Republic and Taiwan, he stated.

Drahos is chairman of the Czech Senate Committee on Training, Science, Tradition, Human Rights and Petitions.

The Czech delegation, which departed yesterday, included Czech Deputy Minister for Training, Youth and Sports activities Radka Wildova, together with Czech Deputy Minister for Science, Analysis and Innovation Jana Havlikova.
